It took me 5 years to find a model for this photoshoot. I honestly never thought it would be this difficult. You see so many models who only pose in lingerie/bikinis you think it would be easy to find someone, but I had a model tell me "oh no, I don't want that in my portfolio". It's a crime to be creative apparently. In 2015 I had another go and Penny Purr raised her hand. Penny Purr [https://www.instagram.com/penny_purr/] is a local rapper/hip hop artist. She's covered in tattoos, all attitude and knows how to have fun. She was perfect for this! 

THE SHOOT

On shoot day we all met in Northbridge. I'm not sure what I was thinking but I thought we'd be able to do this in the park quite easily, except it got dark pretty fast and we moved to Dome cafe. 

Her hair was done by Melissa Kidd [Melissa Kidd Hair & Makeup Artist] and the aim was to use her hair as mouse ears with the red hair clips. Makeup was done by Elle Burgess [https://www.facebook.com/elleburgessmakeup] and the idea for that was grungy Courtney Love with smeared makeup.

Minnie_Mouse-065 Considering I had chosen Northbridge for the location I was expecting some sleazy behaviour but we had the total opposite. I was honestly surprised. People came up to us to see what was going on, later while setting up the light a guy was asking what we were up to and told us good luck with it all. Later on two old boys came up and one wanted his photo taken. Another girl offered a suggestion for a location if I wanted one. I was absolutely amazed at how well people took what we were doing and seemed genuinely interested. While this shoot idea did take so long to come to life I couldn't be happier with the results. I hope you like it too!
